Don’t Buy the Abercrombie Traveler Dress – Here’s Why

I know you’ve seen the Abercrombie Traveler Dress!  It came out in 2022 and went viral on TikTok.

What is the Abercrombie Traveler Dress

The Abercrombie Traveler dress was hailed the be-all and end-all of dresses for traveling!  It’s a dress made of legging fabric with built-in shorts.  The little shorts underneath have pockets too.

The internet went crazy for this dress saying it was perfect for travel because it provided the comfort of sportswear, the coverage of shorts, and the stylishness of a cute dress.

Why the Abercrombie Traveler Dress is Terrible for Travel

Here’s why I think the Abercrombie Travel Dress is the WORST travel dress ever and some better alternatives.  

The number one reason the Abercrombie dress is terrible for travel is that it lacks a way for you to do to the bathroom without completely being naked!  

The shorts are connected to the dress for a completely seamless look which is nice and all but absolutely not functional.  

This should be a complete deal breaker for any seasoned traveler or hiker.  I’ve gone to the bathroom in some sketchy places where I would not like to have my boobs hanging out while I’m taking a wee.  This includes hikes where I’m completely outdoors and even an outhouse in Thailand before I’m about to get on a boat tour.

Also considering many toilets in Asia and Europe are squat toilets meaning they do not have toilet seats and you have to literally squat to pee, this dress is even worse.  

And did I mention the outhouse situation?  I was basically squatting over a toilet in a wooden enclosure that was not completely seamless.  Being naked here just to pee would have been less than ideal!

What’s Better than the Abercrombie Travel Dress?
