Antigua Resort: Why Cocobay Resort is Perfect for Your Antigua Honeymoon
Cocobay Resort is one of the most romantic all-inclusive resorts in Antigua, perfect for honeymoons and celebrations. From the moment we arrived, we could feel the romantic ambiance of Cocobay, from the immaculate gardens brimming with blooms to the luxurious cottages with private pools – Check Prices here. We did quite a bit of research when looking through Antigua resorts and Cocobay had everything we sought. It’s an intimate boutique resort with just about 30 cottages so it never feels crowded and you are treated like family by the welcoming staff. We seriously needed a little break from our cute little toddler to celebrate our 5 year anniversary, though Cocobay would have been the perfect destination for an Antigua honeymoon as well. A truly hidden oasis, Cocobay has all the convenience of an all inclusive resort, but none of the cookie cutter feel of many resorts. For more pictures don’t forget to follow me on Instagram here.

Antigua Resort: Where is Cocobay Resort Located
Nestled cliff side and surrounded by lush greenery, Cocobay Resort is located on the western coast of Antigua and faces the Caribbean sea. This Antigua resort is right next to Jolly Harbour and about 30 minutes from VC Bird International Airport. Because of its cliffside location, Cocobay offers the perfect sunset views, but also easy access to the beach! The best of both worlds because usually when resorts are on a cliff with infinity pools, there’s no beach access and vice versa. Cocobay has both! When we arrived at the airport we were promptly picked up and greeted not only by the most welcoming staff but with the most beautiful green surroundings we have ever seen at a resort!
Antigua Resort: Romantic Pools Perfect for Your Antigua Honeymoon at Cocobay Resort
Surrounded by blooming flowers and birds singing in the background, Cocobay Resort has 2 stunning infinity pools which we lounged by with drinks in hand (and no we didn’t have to worry about carrying around money to pay for our drinks because Cocobay Resort is an all inclusive resort in Antigua). The upper pool even has floats and we definitely took advantage of them for a float in the pool. Both pools offer perfect sunset views and we thoroughly enjoyed the upper one. Even though Cocobay Resort was completely booked when we were there, we never felt crowded.

There is a 3rd, secret pool just a few steps below the upper pool offering couples a private oasis. It’s the perfect spot for 2 to enjoy some private time while toasting to champagne. Get there early and drop your towels off to reserve it because it is quite popular.

Antigua Resort: The Cottages at Cocobay Resort
The cottages at Cocobay Resort exude barefoot luxury with perfect Caribbean vibes. Enveloped in immaculate gardens, the rooms face the west with sunset views. Our luxurious Premium Pool Suite came complete with all the amenities from an en-suite Nespresso machine, complimentary champagne, plush robes, to flowers decorating the bathroom. But the star of the show? Our veranda with an outdoor clawfoot bathtub, a plunge pool, a hammock, and breakfast nook. These premium suites are definitely perfect for an Antigua honeymoon.

The first thing we did when we got to our room? Jump into our plunge pool of course! And did I mention you could see the ocean from our veranda? When we weren’t enjoying Cocobay’s many amenities we were swinging in our hammock or taking a dip in our private pool. And of course, I spent every evening having a little soak in my outdoor bath while he swung in the hammock, listening to the sounds of the ocean and birds with the scent of hibiscus in the air. To complete the romantic atmosphere, a mosquito net over the bed hanging from vaulted ceilings.

Antigua Resort: No Antigua honeymoon or anniversary is complete without a pristine beach!
Powdery white sand and perfectly clear waters are accessible from Cocobay Resort just past the lower pool. Cocobay Beach has little huts and chairs set out for resort guests. Walk down the stretch of beach and you’ll find a little path on the left that leads to another deserted beach, Fryes beach. Within the resort lays a small stretch of beach just below the resort hammock and daybed with a thatched roof. We couldn’t quite figure out which was better napping in the hammock on our veranda or the daybed next to the beach, those are the best kind of problems to have.

Antigua Resort: Activities at Cocobay Resort, for Some Fun on Your Antigua Honeymoon
For those super motivated honeymooners (sorry that wasn’t us), Cocobay has so many activities. They offer yoga and workouts on the beach, snorkeling, hobbie cat sailing, and sea kayaking. There’s also a jet ski vendor right outside the lower pool. Normally we are the adventurous types but this time around we just wanted to enjoy a slower pace so we only did some light snorkeling. We watched as couples kayak across Valley Church Bay and conversed with another pair that took out the hobbie cat, they said it was a great experience, but it would be hard to get back in if there was no wind and you had no experience sailing.
Cocobay even organizes eco activities such as beach clean up! Sadly we were leaving the day before they did this.
And for the ultimate in romance, there’s candlelight dinners available on the beach. We watched several couples having beautiful dinners right on the beach organized by Cocobay.

Things to Do on Your Antigua Honeymoon
Because we were celebrating a special occasion at such a special place we didn’t really want to leave the resort. We did, however, get ourselves in gear for a few activities, not on the resort. Many of the guests at Cocobay recommended the Circumnavigate tour – Check Prices here, but unfortunately, we missed it because it doesn’t run every day. But the amazing staff at Cocobay Resort totally came to the rescue and booked a private sailboat tour for us – Check Prices here. We really didn’t want to spend a whole day on a boat anyway because we wanted to lounge around the pools and our veranda so we did a half day tour. We sailed, we snorkeled (even spotting a stingray), played Robinson Crusoe at a deserted beach, then were welcomed back home to be wined and dined by Cocobay Resort.
We also booked a half day tour – Check Prices here, of the island visiting English Harbour, Shirley Heights, a mango forest, and Devil’s gate. Our guide gave us so much wonderful history and facts about the island. For example did you know there were 2,000 Chinese people living in Antigua? It was a shock to us! Definitely a fun tour.
Thank you Cocobay Resort for spoiling us so much that we didn’t want to come home!

It looks amazing here!!
