A few years ago I Googled and Googled for a cute place to have high tea, I found a few great choices, but nothing like Lady Camellia’s in Georgetown.  This is the best place to have tea in DC.  From the pink wall papered walls to the tufted chains and crystal chandeliers, if you are looking for the perfect venue for a tea party, this is it! tea in dc I’ve been here twice now and each time the service and food were all excellent.  They have a great selection of teas for every taste, even decaf!  Our favorites were definitely the Sakura and Strawberry.  Their more traditional Asian Oolong was very good too.  And I’m a pretty picky tea drinker.  I’d stay away from the Rose Black Tea though, the flavor was just off putting. best tea in washington dc cutest tea place in washington best place for high tea Now the food!  All the desserts and treats are delicious but our favorites were definitely the scones with clotted cream.  They’re presented so beautifully on tiered trays just as if you were in a story book with the Mad Hatter himself.   I’d highly recommend the High Tea service with the Entrée of their tarts and selection of pastries.

If you have a large party (like we did) you can do the Tea Party and actually replace the tea sandwiches with the entrees, which is what we did. And if you have a very large party you can reserve the whole place for a Tea Celebration which comes with the entrée and unlimited delicious treats!

The first time I went was for a private event and it was the best.  If you have 12 or more people I’d highly recommend this option.  You’d have the whole place to yourself and unlimited sweets and tea.  Believe me it’s worth it for a party of 12 or more. The space is very small and books up very very quickly so if you are going to go make a reservation at least a few weeks in advance.  They book up fast.Tea in DC Lady Camellia

Now if you follow me on Instagram, you’ll have seen these crowns already.  Since several people I know had already had Sprinkles here, I wanted to do something slightly different for my friend’s Sprinkle.  So I made fresh flower crowns!  There were such a hit and everyone loved them and they fit the venue perfectly.  Our hashtags of the day were #realflowercrown #notafilter.  They were so easy to make too with just flowers from Trader Joe’s and greenery from my back yard.
