There are lots of lists out there of where to see daffodils in Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. But unfortunately most of the posts lack any great pictures of daffodils in D.C. They all look like small patches of daffodils here and there that could have been taken in anyone’s backyard.
If you want to see patches of daffodils in D.C., you can literally find them anywhere!
But if you want to see a FIELD of daffodils in and around D.C., there are 3 places to go that are closest to the D.C. Metro area.

Gloucester Virginia Daffodils
I’ve seen Gloucester, Virginia, all over Instagram! There are legitimately fields of daffodils in this little Virginia town. It is unofficially known as the “Daffodil Capital of America.” The season begins in early March and lasts through early April.
They have a driving tour to view all the daffodils in 2026:

- Gloucester Point Baptist Church
- Tidemill Shops / Scoot’s BBQ 🍗
- Phillips Energy
- Abingdon Episcopal Church ⛪ (Entrance + cemetery)
- Old Page Water Tower (Rt. 17)
- Lockwood Carpets
- Gloucester County Library 📚
- Split Enz Salon 💇♀️
- Edgehill Shopping Center / Morgan Building
- Gloucester Courthouse Area
- Botetourt Elementary School 🏫
- Newington Baptist Church 🌼 (Daffodil Show location)
- Fiddler’s Crossing
- Walter Reed’s Birthplace 🌿 (NEW! Display Garden)
🐝 Turn around, head back to Rt. 17 - Ark Park / Farmer’s Daughter 🌻
- Adner (Up County entrance)
🐝 Turn around → head back to Courthouse Area → Rt. 14 - Brown Park Skate Spot 🛹
- Ware Episcopal Church ⛪ (Cemetery in the back — WOW!)
- Ware Academy

Burnside Farms, Virginia Daffodils
Burnside Farms is known for its tulips, but they also have a field of daffodils that bloom at the beginning of the season, usually around mid-April.
While I was disappointed in the tulips, the time I visited their daffodil field was absolutely stunning. Call first to see if it was planted because I’m not sure they have it every year.
Lady Bird Johnson Park, Washington, D.C. Daffodils
The absolute best place to see actual fields of daffodils in D.C. for free is Lady Bird Johnson Park. If you drive along the George Washington Parkway between the Theodore Roosevelt Bridge and the 14th Street Bridge, you will see fields of yellow.

And I’m not talking about sparse little patches of daffodils; these are full-on fields of daffodils. Lady Bird Johnson took on many beautification projects when she was First Lady in the 1960s, and these daffodil fields in D.C. and tulips, too, are part of her legacy.

The daffodils in Lady Bird Johnson Park always hit peak bloom when the famous cherry blossoms around the Tidal Basin hit peak bloom. I always see them when I’m driving into the city during cherry blossom season.
For 2026, the daffodils hit peak bloom on March 26th.
