The leather jacket is definitely a fall essential, especially a leather biker jacket.  This piece you will want to invest in because you will wear it year after year and after year.  Just like the parka, the leather biker jacket is classic and never goes out of style.  It can add a certain edginess to any look.  Whether draped across your shoulders, or worn with the sleeves pushed up to the elbows a leather jacket elevates and bumps up any outfit to the next level.  And it packs well!  If you are going anywhere that requires a light to medium jacket, a leather biker jacket is the way to go!  That one jacket will go with everything from sweats to dresses and make you instantly Instagramable.

The good news is with Black Friday and Cyber Monday coming up you can totally score a deal on a leather jacket! Now when looking for a leather jacket that will last for years and be that investment piece I tend to look for ones made of real leather in a classic style like the biker leather jacket.  Even with a leather biker jacket there are many style variations, some have belts, interestings zipper details, shoulder epaulettes or padded channeling. There’s shrunken fits or a slightly oversized fit.   And then there’s also choice of leather or suede.  Added to that there’s a choice of shrunken, fitted, or oversized.

Here are some of my picks that are definitely investment worthy but won’t quite break the bank.

And now for the drool worthy splurges that I keep staring at and will be looking for a deal on once Black Friday hits.

I tend to go for shrunken fits because being height challenged, tailored jackets look better on me.   I’m currently loving the selection at Topshop, the epitome of British cool, they’ve really nailed the biker look down.  Their sizing usually runs a bit small so it’s perfect for a tailored look.
