kiehls midnight recovery dupe

I’ve been a fan of Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate – Check Prices for a long time.  It’s a cult favorite for a reason. This amazing oil does everything it claims, reducing fine lines, smooths skin, boosts moisture, absorbs easily, reduces pores, and even gets rid of dark under eyes!  But it’s quite pricey, so I’ve made a dupe of Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate that works amazingly well!  It’s the perfect face oil to add to your skincare routine.

Why I love Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate

Mightnight Recovery Concentrate did what every eye cream could not.  It minimized the hereditary dark circles under my eyes. After using it on the first night, I saw a vast improvement that morning to my dark circles!  But my whole face was glowing as well!

I was addicted after that and started using it DAY and night as my main moisturizer.  So I went through that jar of oil pretty quickly which is why I looked into a dupe of Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate, but I found nothing on the market that even compared.

So I decided to DIY my own Midnight Recovery Concentrate by analyzing the ingredients on the back of the package.

Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Dupe

I tried quite a few different oils in when looking for a dupe of Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate.  But none of the alternatives for Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery really delivered.

The dupes I’ve seen of the Kiehl’s oil on the market all lack one or more of the key ingredients.  Which is why I had to make my own!

Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate Dupe DIY

Making a dupe of Kiehl’s cult-favorite face oil was a lot easier than I expected.  It was around this time I first discovered squalane oil as well and it happened to be the first ingredient in Kiehl’s oil.

I then googled some of the top ingredients on the back of the package and discovered why Kiehl’s was so effective at reducing pores, vanquishing dark circles, and giving an overall radiance!

It’s the combination of squalane oil, evening primrose oil, and rosehip oil!  Kiehl’s has more ingredients than these but I think just these 3 oils make a great dupe that will give you the results Kiehl’s does at a fraction of the cost.

Squalane Oil – Check Prices

Squalane oil is super moisturizing without clogging pores.  It’s naturally found in your skin and can prevent moisture loss.

Evening Primrose Oil – Check Prices

Evening primrose oil is great for moisturizing as well.  It gives your skin a radiant glow and drastically reduces pores!  I rubbed a bunch of this stuff on my face after breaking over a capsule by accident and after about 10 minutes not only did it fully absorb, but my face looked incredibly smooth and radiant!

Rosehip Oil – Check Prices

Rosehip oil is another ingredient great at hydration and moisturization!  It’s also great at reducing dark circles and hyperpigmentation.

Lavender Essential Oil – Check Prices

The lavender oil is optional, I think it really just makes it smell better honestly.  I find that primrose oil by itself has a weird smell that’s not pleasant to the nose, but a few drops of lavender essential oil masks it really well.  Plus I love the smell of lavender!

Glass Dropper Bottle – Check Prices

You will need a container to store your DIY Midnight Recovery Oil!  I’ve used the old empty bottles from Kiehl’s, but if you don’t have one, definitely get an amber glass dropper bottle so the light doesn’t affect the oils!
