My Ultimate Lace Skirt in Tulum

I absolutely love anything with lace, really anything, so of course I had to bring tons of lace to Tulum.  I have at least 100 things in my close made of white lace.  And when the lace trend caught on a few years ago, I’ve pretty much been binge collecting lacey lacey wisps of clothing.  But this lace skirt has to be my absolute favorite and I continually reach for it again and again especially when traveling to exotic beach locations like Tulum.

When we went to Tulum for my birthday of course it was the first thing I packed.  What I was going to wear with it on top was of no consequence because it really does go with everything in my closet, from crop tops to chunky sweaters.  But since we were going to be 80 degree weather plus 100% humidity I decided not to bring those chunky sweaters.

Instead I packed my essentials of crop tops, off shoulder crop tops, and crochet crop tops…see the trend there…CROP TOPs in case you missed it.

One of the best parts of this skirt is the high waist shape which makes it perfect to pair with crop tops (see paragraph on top as to why this is important).

AND for those multi-taskers this lace skirt can totally be worn to work, you know in a more relaxed workplace with a nice button down.  It’s not quite Ally McBeal territory yet (great I just dated myself there with that reference).  But a slightly longer lace skirt would be completely work appropriate.  That whole masculine button down juxtaposed against girly lace skirt works perfectly, especially for work.  Slap on a a pair of killer heels and your good to go.

But back to the topic at hand, what I wore this particular For Love and Lemons lace skirt (you didn’t think I only owned one did you?) with.  The high waist just covers enough of my belly button with this semi see through crochet crop top to give it some balance…though I’ll admit I’ve crossed that line before.  By the way For Love and Lemons probably has some of my favorite lace pieces, their lace is to die for.
