Rockville restaurants are some of the best in the Washington DC area. The City of Rockville really has grown as a foodie destination. These days I no longer find myself going to Washington DC to find all the foodie delights anymore.
And if you want some authentic Chinese food, from dim sum to Taiwanese food, all the best restaurants are in Rockville, MD.
This Rockville restaurant guide will feature all the restaurants I’ve shared on my TikTok.
Thai Chef in Rockville Town Center
Thai Chef has a location in Washington DC, but the Rockville Town Center location is definitely the most Instagrammable. If you want to get Thai food on a date this is the restaurant you’ll want to go to in Rockville!
The food was good, but I’ve definitely had better (keep reading for my favorite Thai restaurant in the area), the drinks however are the BEST. I highly recommend any of their cocktails, which are both beautiful and delicious.
Bread Corner Bakery in Rockville
Bread Corner has become a staple for Chinese baked goods in Rockville. Ever since the historic Maria’s Bakery (one of the first in the area) closed, this hole-in-the-wall bakery has filled a big spot for light and fluffy fruit cakes, pineapple buns, and the elusive pineapple cakes!
They actually make their own pineapple cakes here and I’ve not had one as good as the pineapple cakes made here except in Taiwan!
Mr. Wish Rockville MD
Mr. Wish is the only place that has the famous Taiwanese egg cakes with custard or red bean filling. This is actually a bubble tea place, but I come here for the egg cakes! Their tea is a little sweet so ask for zero sugar and get 2 orders of the egg cakes because trust me you will eat both orders!
Bangkok Garden Restaurant Rockville, MD
Bangkok Garden is by far my favorite Thai restaurant in Maryland! This is another one of those hole-in-the-wall places with authentic dishes you won’t see anywhere else. While I love the decor of Thai Chef, Bangkok Garden is what I crave and where we order take-out when we want Thai food! The vegetable dip here is amazing and their fried Hainanese chicken rice reminds me of Thailand! Definitely try the crab noodles and mussel pancake too!
Villa Maya Restaurant
Texmex style food is actually hard to find in this area. Villa Maya definitely hits a homerun in this category with their soup, salsa and chips, and my favorite the steak fajitas!
Kusshi Sushi at Pike & Rose
If sushi is what you are craving then Kusshi Sushi at Pike and Rose is the place to get it. Their fish is so fresh, especially the toro. I’ve had some really terrible quality toro in this area but Kusshi always has fresh toro!
