There’s nothing I love more than a TikTok recipe that’s actually good! Trader Joe’s Lobster Bisque Pasta is going viral all over TikTok and is worth the hype! This is one of those Trader Joe’s recipe hacks that’s so easy to make and barely takes any effort to make.

I can see why this recipe is so attractive. If you’ve ever ordered lobster pasta or spaghetti at a restaurant, you know it can be quite expensive. TikTok Lobster Bisque Pasta is a budget-friendly dish that’s so easy to make that’s just as good as most restaurants!

My daughter is a pretty picky eater and this TikTok recipe is kid-approved! She does not like the traditional spaghetti and meatballs, but she loved this dish!
The best part is you can get all the ingredients for TikTok Lobster Bisque Pasta at Trader Joe’s. And did I mention it only takes 30 minutes to make this delicious pasta? Perfect for weeknight dinners!

Here are the step-by-step instructions and ingredients for TikTok Trader Joe’s Lobster Bisque Pasta from TikTok which makes 4 servings.

Ingredients
Trader Joe’s Lobster Bisque
Trader Joe’s Lobster Bisque is the main ingredient in this dish.
This creamy soup forms the “sauce” in the pasta sauce. This soup is absolutely delicious and thick, perfect for a soup base. You will need 1 container of the bisque.
Trader Joe’s Fully Cooked Frozen Langostino Tails
You will need one package of Trader Joe’s Fully Cooked Frozen Langostino Tails. This is the “lobster” of this dish!

What if you can’t find Trader Joe’s Frozen Langostino Tails? Can you substitute something else for Trader Joe’s Langostino Tails?
I happened to not be able to find the Langostino Tails at Trader Joe’s when I went. The space where the sign said they would be was filled with salmon! You can really use any shrimp for this recipe. I ended up using the Frozen Raw Red Shrimp.
What I didn’t realize was that the Shrimp package is 16 ounces while the Langostino tails is only 12 ounces. I did feel that I had too much shrimp in my pasta but that’s my personal preference.
Pasta
This is a pasta recipe so you’ll definitely need pasta! Spaghetti seems to be the most popular choice for Trader Joe’s Lobster Bisque pasta, but you can really use any kind. I used 8 ounces of pappardelle.
Cherry Tomatoes
Tomatoes add such depth of flavor to this dish! They add a nice tartness, sweetness, and umami.

Most people on TikTok use the 1 pint container of cherry tomatoes. But I’ve also seen people use just regular tomatoes cut. I’ve also seen people cut the cherry tomatoes in half. I personally used cherry tomatoes uncut.
Also, while most people on TikTok only used 1 pint of cherry tomatoes, and which is what I did also, when I make this dish again I would increase to 1.5 pints or 2 pints.
Onion
You can use ½ to 1 whole medium onion. On TikTok it looks like most people used about half an onion, so that’s what I did as well. But I would use a whole onion next time. By the time I was done sauteing the onion, I felt like half of it had disappeared.
I did notice most people did a very rough chop of the onion, but I diced mine up finely because I don’t like eating large pieces of onion.
Basically, I prefer the onion to disappear into the sauce.
Garlic
I used 3 cloves and found that sufficient, but definitely add more if you like extra garlic.
Lemon (Optional)
Some people on TikTok used a lemon for this pasta recipe but some did not! I chose to use 1 lemon after trying the sauce without it. I think the lemon adds a nice zestiness and cuts the heaviness of the creamy sauce.
Basil or Parsley (Optional)
Again some people added basil or parsley as garnish. I chose to add some basil and really loved it.
Parmesan Cheese (Optional)
This is another topping some people use on TikTok, but I felt the sauce was creamy enough as is so I omitted it.
Salt & Pepper
Add salt and pepper to taste for this dish!
Red Pepper Flakes (Optional)
If you want a hint of spice to Trader Joe’s Lobster Bisque Past Recipe, then toss in a bit of red pepper flakes. I didn’t add this because I made this for my daughter and she does not like spicy food!
Directions
First, defrost your frozen shrimp or langostino tails in the refrigerator overnight.
Boil water and cook your pasta of choice to al dente or slightly below al dente.
Next finely chop up your onion, garlic, and basil, or parsley if you are using.

Add some olive oil to a medium/large saucepan over medium heat.
When hot add in the onion and saute until soft and translucent. Add a pinch of salt to release some of the water.
Add garlic and saute for another minute.
Toss in the the tomatoes and cook until they start to burst and blister, add another pinch of salt and red pepper flakes if using.

Next it’s time to add the langostino tails or shrimp to the pan. Add salt and pepper to taste, and cook for 1 minute.
Pour in the Trader Joe’s Lobster Bisque and bring to a simmer.

Add in the pasta, stir, and simmer for a minute or less depending on how done your pasta is.

Squeeze in your lemon if using and mix.
Top with basil, parsley, and or parmesan if using before serving.

Alternative Cooking Methods for Trader Joe’s Lobster Bisque Pasta Recipe
There are a few different ways to cook the Trader Joe’s Lobster Bisque Pasta from TikTok.
You can cook the langostino tails or shrimp completely separately and add it back in after the sauce is done, just before you add the pasta. This is a great way to ensure your langostino tails or shrimp is not overcooked. But it will also mean an extra pot to wash!
Another way to cook your pasta is to cook it directly in the sauce. My husband does this all the time making zucchini pasta. He cooks it directly in the sauce. I’ve not tried this yet and I’ve not seen it done so I’m not sure how it will turn out. BUT if you do try it this way I would cook the langostino or shrimp separately so it doesn’t overcook while the pasta is cooking.
Trader Joe’s Lobster Bisque Pasta Recipe FAQ
Here are some common questions I’ve seen people ask on TikTok regarding the viral Tracer Joe’s Lobster Bisque Pasta Recipe.

Are Trader Joe’s Langostino Tails discontinued?
While I can’t be certain it’s discontinued, I could not find it at my local Tader Joe’s. The label was there so I assume they are still carrying it, but it might just be out of stock.
What else can I use instead of Trader Joe’s Langostino Tails?
You can use any shrimp, frozen or fresh. A great substitute is the frozen raw red shrimp available at Trader Joe’s. It’s actually right next to the langostino.
Costco is another great place to buy frozen shrimp!
Do I need to use cherry tomatoes to make Trader Joe’s Lobster Bisque Pasta?
No, you can use regular tomatoes and just cut them into small pieces. The cherry tomatoes are convenient because you don’t have to cut them. Although I have seen several people cut the cherry tomatoes in half.
What kind of pasta should I use?
You can use any kind of pasta you like! This dish seems to be most popular using spaghetti or linguini. But I’ve seen people use bow-tie pasta too! I used pappardelle because I love it! I think next time I’ll try spaghetti!
