Favorite White Maxi Dress

My favorite summer staple is the white maxi dress, so light and effortless, perfect for summer travel.  I almost always pack one because they can be styled for a dressy dinner or more casually for day time depending on the shoes.  Of course my favorite color is white, which might be why I’m so in love with white maxi dresses.  Here I’ve worn it with my staple gladiators and felt hat for a more casual vibe.

Even though summer is almost over, a winter Caribbean getaway is just around the corner and a white maxi is perfect for that winter vacation down south.

When I shop for white maxis I tend to look for natural fibers like cotton and silk.  Since I tend to wear them during the summer months and travel with them to beach locations, natural fabrics provide more breathability.  Clothing made of natural fibers is cooler than say a long dress made out of polyester which tends to trap heat and make you melt when the thermostat and humidity rises.

The halter neck and high slits of this Stone Cold Fox dress is the perfect summer and beach dress.  It’s made of a light silk that drapes beautifully.  It flutters lightly in the breeze.   I own quite a few Stone Cold Fox pieces and I’ve totally fallen in love with the quality of their fabric.  Because of the beautiful designs and quality they are quite a bit pricey than say, Forever 21, but I’ve been able to find great deals on sale, on ebay, and on Poshmark.   I would call this an investment piece because I have worn it countless times at the beach, all summer long, and even in winter (for new years eve of course).
